Fourth and fifth grade students learned about Ancient Aztec and Mesoamerican art and styles. Then they painted their own designs on butcher paper. The idea was that they would have something to run through and break open as they enter the gym, kind of like how football teams run through a banner. We didn't have enough time to work on them, so instead I cut the individual designs out and mounted them on paper and displayed them in the hallways. I think they look awesome!
