Mrs. Coxen
Mrs. Coxen was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She grew up in South Florida and graduated from Deerfield Beach High School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. She went to the University of Florida where she earned a bachelors with a double major in Linguistics and Spanish and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. She speaks English, Spanish, and Tok Pisin. She has also studied Portuguese, Arabic and Chinese.
After working as a daycare teacher for 2 years, she went to Papua New Guinea as an intern Bible translator. She was only able to stay 8 months because she became seriously ill. When she moved back to the United States, she decided to become a teacher and moved to Dallas, TX to work on her alternative certification. Mrs. Coxen has taught 2nd grade bilingual, pre-k, and now Elementary Spanish at Preston Hollow Elementary. She is a mommy to one silly, crazy and energetic toddler (and an 8lb dog ironically named Thor) |
